Servadei: ‘Not the time for survival of the fittest’

Following the news that The Tire Cologne will be postponed to 2021, Renzo Servadei, chief executive officer of Autopromotec has criticized the decision to proximity of the Cologne show’s revised dates to the pre-planned Autopromotec in Bologna.

Commenting to our sister publication PneusNews.it, Servadei said: “We learn from the official press release that The Tire Cologne has postponed the event to the coming year. Sorry to note that the date set is close to Autopromotec, which will be held on 26-29 May 2021. This choice, far from any attempt to harmonize initiatives in an emergency that involves us all, will force many exhibitors to make penalizing choices for Cologne, when a more careful planning could instead be a valid choice to recover from the consequences of the health crisis.”

Servadei particular criticized what he saw as the Tire Cologne’s commercial Darwinianism: “This is not the time to play “survival of the fittest” Even in the exhibition sector, the levers of competition can never prove fatal as today, while strategies of solidarity and collaboration should be triggered.”
