Pirelli: Business activities remain ‘guaranteed’, despite national lockdown

Pirelli’s business activities remain “guaranteed”, despite the further steps taken by the Italy government to combat Covid-19 yesterday evening.

In answer to Tyres & Accessories’ questions on the matter, a Pirelli spokesperson commented: “the extension of government restrictions allows for the continuation of production activities, as did the previous restrictions, so there has been no change to what we communicated yesterday.”

Therefore, road transportation is allowed to and from “reinforced containment” areas and therefore Pirelli does not foresee the provisions issued having significant impacts on the transportation of goods.

Pirelli’s latest comments follow the release of a statement assuring the continuity of business earlier on 9 March 2020.
