Pirelli names Berardi CEO, Crola chairman for North America
As of 1 March, Pietro Berardi will join Pirelli as the company’s chief executive officer for North America. Pirelli says this appointment is being made “in light of the ever more challenging competitive context” within the region. He takes over as chief executive officer from Marco Crola, who moves to the role of chairman North America “to ensure the continuity of actions already underway.”
Berardi comes to the tyre maker from Renault Nissan Mitsubishi, where he was vice president of aftersales at Nissan North America. Previously he served as chief executive officer of Magneti Marelli Aftermarket. In his new role at Pirelli, Berardi is tasked with developing business in North America and strengthening its command of the market by executing the strategies and commercial policies best suited to consolidating leadership in the segments Pirelli defines as Premium and Prestige. In addition, he will continue the process of integrating the tyre maker’s original equipment and replacement channels, as well as enhancing relationships with strategic clients.
