Autopromotec 2021: A more concise focus on tech revolution
The biennial Autopromotec trade fair will next take place in May 2021, and will be held over just four days instead of the traditional five. The dropping of a show day is one of several changes in format the organiser has announced.
The 29th edition of Autopromotec will open its doors on Wednesday 26 May 2021 and conclude on Saturday 29 May. Autopromotec says that visitors and exhibitors are quite happy to dispense with a Sunday show day. In fact, based upon a survey of exhibitors and visitors who attended recent editions of Autopromotec, it claims that an “overwhelming majority” of attendees believe that limiting the number of show days to four “would make it possible to intensify business meetings and at the same time optimise companies’ resources and investments.”
More than half of respondents also identified the development of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data and nanotechnology as the trends that will shape the automotive sector and its supply chain in future. A greater focus will thus be placed upon these themes at meetings and conferences held during the 2021 show.
“A trade show is not just numbers but also comments and opinions of those who participate,” explains Renzo Servadei, chief executive officer of Autopromotec. “That is why we decided to contact exhibitors and visitors to gather suggestions for improvements in content and format for the next edition. The technological revolution we are witnessing in our sector is driving us to change, and at Autopromotec we must be the first to adapt. To paraphrase a great scientist: It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change.”
