First Line’s premium oil sumps ‘increasingly in demand’
With UK roads known for their potholes, it’s something that every driver has to put up with, but what impact is it having on vehicles? The obvious components it affects are the tyres, wheels and bodywork, but there are other components that may also become worn due to potholes and even speed humps.
Oil Sumps are “increasingly in demand”, First Line states, due to impact damage or corrosion, especially where the protective finish (on the steel powder coated sumps) has been damaged leaving bare steel exposed to the elements, resulting in an increase in oil sump repair work and replacements.
First Line offers a range of more than 20 oil sumps that cater for the most highly demanded applications, such as the aluminium VAG 1.9TDI version, which is available with and without the oil level sensor provision, and the popular Fiat 500/Vauxhall Corsa 1.3TD product.
The range is manufactured using aluminium or steel construction depending on the original equipment (OE) fitment, with all steel sumps having a powder coating to ensure longevity and extra resistance against corrosion. All sumps include a pre-fitted plug and are gasket free.
Alongside this is a range of 11 sump plugs, which are available to buy separately, including the popular patented plastic sump plug for VAG Golf, A3 and A4, offering the complete solution for technicians. These plugs are mainly supplied in packs of five, so that when carrying out routine oil changes, there is always a replacement available.
As with many First Line components, all sumps and plugs come with a comprehensive two-year/24,000-mile warranty, against manufacturing defects.
