Michelin/CFAO distribution deal gets Kenya competition authority approval

The Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) has approved Michelin’s bid to form a tyre distribution joint venture with Toyota Kenya’s parent firm CFAO to sell tyres in Kenya and Uganda.

CFAO and Michelin had announced the planned tyre distribution JV back in March 2018. The venture will be 51 per cent owned by CFAO and 49 per cent by Michelin while governance will reportedly be equally divided between the two firms.
