Avon introduces AX7 for crossovers and SUVs

Avon Tyres is launching its third generation of all-terrain performance tyre, the Avon AX7. This latest addition to the Avon line-up is aimed at crossovers and SUVs of all sizes and is available in eight sizes for 16- to 20-inch rim diameters.

The Avon AX7 is designed as a 60 per cent on-, 40 per cent off-road tyre. Avon Tyres says it “offers excellent grip performance over a wide variety of conditions.”

Standout features of the tyre include a tread pattern with five ribs – Avon says this contributes “to impressive straight-line stability and surface traction without sacrificing handling performance.” A high-tensile body ply has also been incorporated to enhance resistance to damage and increase the load carrying capacity. In addition, grooved tread block walls help prevent stone retention and penetration, boosting off-road performance.

Alongside these handling and safety developments, the AX7’s staggered tread design is said to deliver a quieter ride.
