Vipal’s Mexican partner opens new unit
Vipal Rubber Mexican partner Llanco recently opened its second unit in the country, in Nuevo Laredo, in the state of Tamaulipas.
Named Llanco – NL, the plant began operating in early May, with a production capacity of up to 2200 retreads per month. With the new plant’s opening, the retreader expects an approximate growth of 50 per cent in the first year and 100% in the second year. The increase in demand is linked to the strategically chosen location: the city, northwest of Mexico, borders the United States and has a high concentration of transportation companies, which often require the services offered by Vipal.
According to Jean Barros, Vipal Mexico and Central America’s commercial manager, the partnership with Vipal, which has been going on for three and a half years, has brought significant benefits to Llanco: ”Llanco has always focused on its processes and customer support. With the partnership, it has found a company capable of offering strong support and promoting good practices. In addition, as part of the Vipal Network, the retreader started working with the brand’s high-quality products, providing a more complete and aggressive commercial proposal, with a direct impact on sales”.
Founded in June 1994, in Monterrey, Llanco is owned by Llantas Compañia.
