Hella presents new lighting solutions for emergency vehicles at RETTmobil
Hella, the lighting and electronics expert, presented new product highlights for emergency vehicles at RETTmobil in Fulda, the European leading exhibition for rescue and mobility (15-17 May 2019). Some of these highlights include sensors, actuators and switches from the electronics range. The focus of the trade fair presence was on innovations in the field of warning and beacon lights.
The company has expanded its well-known ‘BST’ warning light range and is therefore presenting the new ‘BST-Round’ for the first time at the trade fair, for example. The round lighting modules can be easily and flexibly integrated into different areas of a vehicle by using mounting rings. Attached to the front of the vehicle, the additional flash systems contribute to improving the visual perception of the warning signal. In addition, the ‘BST-Round has an integrated day/night mode that ensures optimum illumination depending on the ambient lighting. During the day it produces a very intense signal, but at night the intensity is reduced so that other road users are not blinded. The warning lights are also available with a dark lens, which is particularly suitable for concealed use, as the lens is less conspicuous and not immediately visible.
Hella is also presenting new lighting solutions for the roof or vehicles. The flat LED roof bars ‘Mini Lightbar’ and ‘Micro Lightbar’ generate both a flashing and rotating warning signal. The housing of the roof bars is only about 50mm high and differs in length between 255mm for the ‘Micro’ and 400mm for the ‘Mini Lightbar’ version. Thus, the roof bars can be mounted in a very flat manner and with various mounting variants, such as fixed mounting, holder or magnet mounting, are compatible with a large number of emergency vehicles.
Another highlight presented by Hella is the new design beacon ‘K-LED Rebelution’, which is characterised by a futuristic appearance and a circumferential, ring-shaped light band. At the same time, the beacon has the best light values and is approved for use on public roads in accordance with European Directive ECE-R65.
