Conti opening Saudi regional office
Continental is planning to open a Middle East regional office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The joint venture project with the company’s previous distributor in Saudi Arabia, Almutlak Trade & Industries, will support growing demand for Continental’s products and services in the kingdom, according to the company.
Continental announced the office during an official gathering that was held recently in Dubai hosted by Nikolai Setzer, Continental’s tyre division head and Jon Ander Garcia, regional manager for Continental in Africa and the Middle East. Garcia reported that the new office represents an important milestone for the brand in the Middle East and added that the region has proven to be a key market for Continental since 2009 when the tyre maker set up a regional office there.
Continental also celebrated the inauguration of its first warehouse in Jebel Ali, Dubai. The warehouse will serve to connect factories in Europe, North America and South America with the brand’s distribution partners in the Middle East. The new warehouse in the UAE will help the company better serve customers with products
and services.
Continental plans to release its digital tyre monitoring platform, ContiConnect, in the region this year. Its ContiPressureCheck, a tyre pressure monitoring system for buses and trucks, entered the market last year.
