TIA: New president, BKT’s Poddar inducted into Hall of Fame
John Evankovich has been inducted as president of the Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) Board of Directors. He took office at the TIA annual membership meeting on 29 October and will serve a one-year term. In addition, the US-based industry association also introduced Brian Rigney (president, Dill Air Controls) as its vice-president and Dan Nothdurft (president, Tires, Tires, Tires) as secretary. Mike Wolfe (owner, Southeastern Wholesale Tire) will remain treasurer.
Evankovich is currently director of Sam’s Club Tire and Battery Centers. He is a 28-year retail veteran who has focused on the tyre industry for the majority of his career, beginning his tyre business career with Sam’s Club and progressing through various operations and human resource roles.
Arvind Poddar, chairman and managing director of Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) was also inducted into the TIA Hall of Fame on 29 October. The honour was conferred upon him at an award ceremony held in Las Vegas, USA.
