Amazon, Sears extend online tyre programme across US
In the USA, Sears Auto Center is expanding its tyre installation and balancing programme for customers who purchase tyres on Amazon.com. Initially launched in May at 47 Sears Auto Centers in eight metropolitan areas, the ship-to-store option for buying tyres is now available nationwide including Alaska and Hawaii.
Mike McCarthy, vice president and general manager of Sears Automotive, commented: “The response from Amazon customers around this program has been extremely positive. Our competitive bundled price for tyre installation, which includes the installation of the tyre, wheel balancing, valve stem or tyre pressure monitor rebuild kit and the tyre disposal fee is resonating with these customers. We’re thrilled to extend this valuable service across even more areas and into hundreds of additional stores….”
Sears Auto Center is the first nationwide auto service centre to offer Amazon.com customers ship-to-store tyre purchasing. Amazon.com customers simply select their tyres, the Sears Auto location, and their preferred date and time for the tyre installation. Sears then contacts them to confirm their appointment. The service works with any brand of tyres, including the Sears DieHard brand.
