Kordsa presents lightweighting concepts at Movin’On
At the Movin’On conference on future mobility held last month in Montreal, tyre cord and composite technology company Kordsa made a presentation that emphasized the need to lighten vehicles for efficient and sustainable mobility.
The presentation covered applications of composites in vehicles for improvements in strength and lightweighting. Kordsa, which says it reinforces one out of every three automobile tyres and two out of every three aircraft tyres worldwide, highlighted current issues of mobility and emphasized the need for new materials for efficient and sustainable mobility.
The presentation discussed Kordsa’s aim to reduce rolling resistance and fuel consumption with its tyre reinforcement technologies and to reduce vehicle weight through composite applications.
Kordsa, a supporter of the open innovation model, is developing composites for use in a wide range of industries, from aerospace to automotive, through its Composite Technologies Center of Excellence, which serves as a technology hub in Turkey.
In other news from the company, Kordsa’s facility in Brazil has been listed among the best employers for the third time by the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW). Kordsa Brazil was the only industrial company to be included in the list.
