Fuel savings a focus for Kumho Ecowing ES31

A new Kumho tyre designed with low rolling resistance and fuel savings in mind has been released in the UK. The Kumho Ecowing ES31 is available in 38 sizes, and Kumho Tyre UK says almost 70 per cent of these sizes carry an EU tyre label rating of ‘B’ for fuel efficiency – this is, it adds, – an “impressively high margin by any standard.”

Rolling resistance is low thanks to the stiff centre rib in the tyre’s tread pattern. Wet weather is helped by four wide drainage channels, while the shoulder areas are optimised for improved wind resistance by the presence of heat dissipation dimples on the inner flank

With sizes ranging from 155/65R14 to 225/55R17, the Ecowing ES31 can be fitted to the vast majority of small and medium hatchbacks, saloons and estates, including such perennially popular British sellers as the Ford Fiesta and Focus; Volkswagen Polo and Golf; BMW 1, 2, 3, and 5 Series; Audi’s A1, A2, A3, A4 and A6 models; and the Mercedes-Benz A, B and C Class.
