Bridgestone refreshes scooter tyre line-up

Technologies from the Battlax motorcycle tyre range have been drawn upon to upgrade the Bridgestone scooter tyre line-up. The result is the Battlax Scooter SC2 and Battlax SC2 Rain.

Battlax Scooter SC2: Promoted as a sport tyre, the Bridgestone Battlax Scooter SC2 focuses on dry performance and has been developed with the latest Battlax Hypersport S21 technologies. Presenting the new tyre, Bridgestone comments that “riders will appreciate how the whole SC2 package accentuates the ease and fun of riding sporty scooters.”

According to Bridgestone, the front and rear SC2 hypersport tread designs provide optimum rigidity, surface contact and grip performance, with new compounds selected for their outstanding dry grip across all temperature ranges.

On the rear tyre, the triple-layer-compound tread used on certain sizes aims to offer riders the best of both worlds: High grip and cornering contact feel from the shoulder compound and wear resistance from the centre-area compound, with maximum performance throughout the tyre life.

Battlax SC2 Rain: Designed for day-to-day touring, Bridgestone says the Battlax Scooter SC2 Rain provides exceptional traction and handling on wet surfaces, supporting scooter riders in their daily commute. Development is based on technologies introduced by the new Battlax Sport Touring T31 tyre.

Both front and rear SC2 Rain tyres use the Battlax T31 sport touring tread pattern which is tuned to balance straight-line stability and sharp handling response. Wet performance is enhanced by the higher void ratio which improves drainage, and by new rubber compounds with high silica content, offering exceptional grip feel on cold and wet surfaces.

Again, the triple-layer-compound tread on some rear wheel sizes provides high grip and cornering contact feel from the shoulder compound and wear resistance from the centre-area compound, with maximum performance throughout the tyre life.

Battlax Scooter SC2 is available in two front and rear sizes; SC2 Rain offers one front size and three rear sizes.
