Startup Challenge joining Movin’On summit

For its second edition, the Movin’On sustainability mobility summit will include a global Startup Challenge. Finalists in the Startup Challenge – up to 50 startups in total – will showcase their technologies between 30 May and 1 June, demonstrating how they can impact the future of sustainable mobility.

To compete in this global competition, Michelin expects startups to meet the following criteria:

• Be an early stage (with first turnover) or a venture business
• Work in the field of sustainable mobility
• Be a true game changer with a proven business model
• Be ready to showcase tangible technologies and actionable solutions

Startups who wish to compete must first register on the online platform Movin’On Startup Challenge prior to the close of play on 25 April 2018. A jury will then evaluate the projects submitted and select a maximum of 50 contestants who will move to the next round. The selected contestants will be invited to attend the 2018 edition of Movin’On, the international mobility summit, with the organisers picking up the tap for flights, accommodation event access and a booth in the startup village. From the 50, the Movin’On Startup Village Team will select 15 startups to pitch their technologies to an audience of top decision-makers. Two grand prize winners will be granted access to one of the main stages at Movin’On, the Cabaret.

Michelin stresses that the competing startups must demonstrate they are true game changers, impacting any one of the following six hot topics:

• Decarbonisation and air quality
• The new multimodal society
• Technologies to accelerate implementation
• Working together
• Circular economy
• Moonshots in mobility
