In motion – Yokohama Rubber launches moving logo
It’s not just a logo, it’s a moving logo. Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has announced the creation of a moving logo for use in television commercials and online videos. Use of the logo began this month, and can be seen at the end of a video (see below) produced by Yokohama Rubber to document the logo’s development.
According to Yokohama Rubber, the aim of creating the moving logo was to leave “viewers of various video media with a memorable visual and aural impression of the Yokohama brand.” It adds that the logo expresses the company’s philosophy of “taking on the challenge of new technologies to produce new value” through the speedy upward movement of the five red lines that form the Yokohama ‘Y-mark’ from the bottom left to the upper right corner of the screen. The accompanying audio is an amplified recording of the sound of wind passing through the leaves of trees planted through the company’s ‘Yokohama Forever Forest’ project.
