FineLine Technologies acquires Ferm RFID Solutions B.V.
FineLine Technologies has acquired Ferm RFID Solutions B.V., a Netherlands-based provider of RFID solutions for the automotive and aviation tyre industry.
As part of FineLine’s strategy to meet the unique item identification needs of today’s global supply chains, this acquisition enables the business to offer a complete range of barcode and RFID enabled tyre labelling solutions to the automotive and aviation industries.
“This acquisition, combined with our recent acquisition of Data2, now enables us to distribute Ferm’s comprehensive array of RFID labeling solutions via our global service bureau,” says FineLine Chairman and CEO George Hoffman.
Ferm RFID’s solutions offer features including: RFID tread labels to trace individual tyres from quality control up to the point of sale; RFID vulcanizing labels to trace individual tyres within production logistics; RFID solutions to support mould management, track and trace materials; and RFID for tyre building machines.
Co-Founder of Ferm RFID Solutions Jos Uijlenbroek notes: “We have developed highly successful RFID solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients in the tyre industry, and with FineLine’s FASTtrak platform we can now effectively distribute these to our clients anywhere in the world. Look for RFID adoption in the tyre industry to rapidly increase with these services now available globally.”
Ferm RFID Solutions was established in 2008 by Jos Uijlenbroek and Marc Flederus to provide companies with support and expertise in all stages of the RFID adoption-process. Mainly based on Ferm’s inventions within the tyre industry, Ferm was pinpointed in 2011 as one of the 50 most innovative companies in the Netherlands. Ferm works closely with a number of the largest tyre producers in the world.
