Directors of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company have declared a quarterly dividend of US$0.10 per share of common stock. The dividend is payable 1 September 2017 to shareholders of record on 1 August 2017. The payout represents an annual rate of $0.40 cents per share.
The three-day Tyrexpo India trade fair concluded yesterday, and organiser SingEx Exhibitions reports the attendance of 2,017 trade visitors at the show in Chennai. There they met with close to 80 exhibitors from 30 countries and participated in added-value programmes such as the TyreTalk/GarageTalk seminars and Tyrexpo/GarageXpo technical workshops. SingEx comments that the seminars and workshops were well received.
Joint developmental work between Shandong Linglong Tire and the Beijing University of Chemical Technology recently bore fruit with the successful production of 3D printed polyurethane tyres. The tyre maker comments that this 3D tyre printing is a first in China.
At its 2017 Supplier Day, Continental’s Automotive Group honoured 15 companies with Supplier of the Year awards for their performance during the 2016 production year. Contenders from the more than 2,700 series suppliers whose components Continental used last year were evaluated in the 15 category awards for quality, technology, costs and purchasing conditions and logistics. The category winners were awarded by Dr Elmar Degenhart, chairman of Continental AG’s Executive Board, and Günter Fella, head of purchasing at Continental Automotive.

Davanti Tyre has appointed Holly Wood (31) as the firm’s new in-house PR and media manager based at the firm’s recently-opened headquarters in the North West of England.
Wood brings experience in the Hospitality, Construction and Sports Management market sectors to her new role at Davanti. Her responsibilities include further enhancing the exposure of the Davanti brand in the tyre industry and increasing overall media presence including building up stronger angles on social media.
Kwik Fit has begun automotive repairs and servicing at its 10th location in Hungary, with the addition of a new centre in Kecskemét.
The opening ceremony for the centre was performed by Olympic medal winning wrestler Norbert Növényi and István Bogasov, Kecskemét city councillor, who joined centre owner Gyorgy Meszaros to mark the start of operations. Gyorgy Meszaros is running the Kecskemét centre under a franchise agreement with Kwik Fit Hungary. Meszaros has operated a car dealership on the site since 2003 and saw a Kwik Fit franchise as a way to offer customers a full range of automotive maintenance and repair services under an internationally respected brand.

From the 19 awards given at the 15th edition of the Volkswagen Group Awards on 28 June, seven VW Group suppliers received a Volkswagen Group Award in the category of Innovation & Technology. This select group included Bridgestone. Matthias Müller, chief executive officer of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, and Dr Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, Group Board of Management member with responsibility for Procurement, presented the tyre maker’s award to Paolo Ferrari, chief executive officer and president of Bridgestone EMEA.
