New Kumho bus, trailer tyres
Two new additions will soon join the Kumho commercial vehicle tyre portfolio, the KCA03 for urban bus applications and the KXT10 trailer tyre.
Improvements all round arrive with the KCA03, reports Kumho Tire. Mileage is said to be 23 per cent higher than that offered by predecessor tyre the KCA11, resistance to wear improved by ten per cent and driving stability by 13 per cent. According to Kumho, this stability is provided by the tread’s broad central blocks, which are separated by saw-pattern grooves, while mileage and wear resistance is improved by the tread compound used in the KCA03.
The Kumho KCA03 is an all-position tyre. The size 275/70 R22.5 product shown at its debut at the Solutrans 2017 show will be joined in the new year by a size 295/80 R22.5 tyre.
The KXT10 trailer axle fitment has been developed for regional and long-haul applications, and complements the KXS10 steer axle and KXD10 drive axle tyres in Kumho’s ‘Multi Performance’ line-up. The tyre maker shares that a new tread compound has been employed to reduce wear and improve mileage, while a new tread design offers optimal traction. The KXT10 bears the 3PMSF snowflake symbol.
Deliveries of the Kumho KXT10 are expected to commence in the final quarter of 2018, with size 385/65 R22.5 and 385/55 R22.5 versions on offer. Kumho Tire says it will publish further information on the new product next year.
