Trelleborg acquires tyre operation in Germany

Through its Trelleborg Wheel Systems business, Sweden’s Trelleborg AB has acquired German earthmover tyre specialist White Baumaschinenreifen GmbH. The transaction was consolidated yesterday.

White Baumaschinenreifen specialises in the service, fitting and repair of pneumatic and solid tyres for construction vehicles in Germany. Prior to the acquisition the Duisburg-based firm sold all main brands of earthmover tyre, and last year it achieved sales of approximately £7.2 million. Trelleborg says the acquisition further strengthens and enlarges its European distribution network for tyres for materials handling and construction vehicles.

“The acquisition gives us the opportunity to expand our tyre service concept for materials handling and construction vehicles, while also allowing us to enhance our sales of service and distribution in Europe. It strengthens our entire supply chain, from manufacturing to service of tyres,” says Paolo Pompei, president of the Trelleborg Wheel Systems business area.
