Nissan’s Giles Rayner is final speaker for VRA seminar

Giles Rayner of Nissan has been confirmed as the final speaker in the line-up for the Vehicle Remarketing Association’s free-to-attend Annual Seminar, taking place next week (23 November).

The national used vehicle remarketing manager will be looking at alternative fuel vehicles and their likely place in the remarketing mix over the coming year and into the future.

He will be one of six experts covering the topic of “The Challenges of 2018” at the seminar, which takes place at the Leicester Marriott Hotel on 23 November and is designed to provide a complete briefing on the major trends and legislative changes affecting those involved in car and van remarketing from fleets to dealers in a compact, four-hour format.

Speakers include:

  • Mike Allen of Zeus Capital, looking at the current state of the market;
  • Jonathan Butler of Geldards on the implications of GDPR for the remarketing sector;
  • Chris Cummings, head of tax at ASE Global on the 2017 Budget;
  • Louise Wallis of the National Franchise Dealer Association on the growing problem of clocking;
  • and Tim Hudson of Cox Automotive on how to handle ever larger used vehicle volumes.

Glenn Sturley, chair at the VRA, said places for the seminar were going fast and that those who wanted to come along should act quickly.

“We have had an excellent reaction to the event and there are only a few more spaces for those who wish to attend, which we expect to be filled in the next week.

“This level of interest is understandable. 2018 looks set to be a challenging year for the remarketing sector for all parties involved. The market, while still relatively buoyant, is perhaps more volatile than it has been for some time, while there is a range of legislative and other changes underway that will have a definite impact on how we all do business.

“As an organisation, we see it as very much part of our role to keep our members and others working in remarketing fully informed about the issues facing the sector and this seminar is very much a part of that commitment. It is intended to pack as much as possible into a short and highly informative format at a location that is nationally convenient.”

Attendance at the conference is free to anyone who is working in any part of the automotive sector – places or more details can be obtained by e-mailing: info@thevra.co.uk.
