Marangoni Tread N.A. expands team

Several new additions have been made the Marangoni Tread North America organisation. Clif Armstrong has been appointed vice-president, new business development, while Michael Aguon and Phil McDonald have taken on regional sales manager roles.

Armstrong brings with him an extensive background in the tyre industry that includes work with Pirelli Industrial, Continental Tire and Yokohama Tire. He has experience in multiple executive functions including sales, marketing, operations and developing a tyre company owned commercial store network. Marangoni Tread N.A. anticipates Armstrong will “be a key contributor in helping us increase market strength, market share and customer satisfaction.”

Michael Aguon has clocked up over 25 years of tyre industry experience in various management roles with several tyre entities, including Bridgestone, Alliance Tire Group, CFI and BKT Tires. He started his career at Bridgestone in the sales engineering department, and was promoted to the OTR division, where he held several positions including OTR field engineering manager, and major mine account executive. The retreading products distributor expects that Aguon’s diverse background in the tyre industry “will add an additional element of support to our dealers that offer a wide range of services.”

Taking on the role of regional sales manager, Northeast, Phil McDonald has spent well over 30 years within the tyre industry, including positions at Goodyear Tire & Rubber, OTR Wheel Engineering and Hankook Tire America. Throughout his career, McDonald has held various management positions that include commercial new tyre sales, retreading, distribution and national accounts.
