Magna supplying heavy-duty OTR tyres around the world
Magna Tyres Group has supplied new tyres to a variety of projects on three continents. In Portugal, the company is providing its 17.5R25 MA05 for a tunnelling project on a Wagner/Atlas Copco Underground Loader, after previously proving a low cost price per hour and durability in past contracts.
In Djibouti, the 12.00R24 Magna MSO truck tyre is in application at a crusher plant in Djibouti. Since using Magna’s products, the customer has reduced cost-per-kilometre and increased productivity. The same customer is using the MSO tyres for asphalt and road construction as well.
On the coast of the Horn of Africa, Magna’s 18.00-25 MB01 port handling tyres are successfully running on a Rubber Tyres Gantry (RTG) crane. The MB01 is designed for use on container handlers and reach stackers, and has been proven in many leading global ports. The tyre features sidewall protection and flotation enhanced by a wide shoulder design; improved traction and performance through non-directional E3 tread design; and improved protector plies to increase load performance and operator comfort
In Saudi Arabia Magna is supplying its MA04 mining tyre (2400R35) to a mining site. The rigid dump truck tyres have performed beyond expectation in severe conditions, Magna states, with no premature failures and low tyre cost per hour. The company closed an annual contract and added several other sizes to its delivery programme.
The Magna MA04 is specially designed for rigid dump trucks in heavy-duty mining conditions. The improved shoulder and sidewall protection offers increased resistance to damage. Different compounds are available to optimize performance for different applications.
