Ecopneus, Eldan Recycling discuss recycling process optimisation
Last month, Dr Giovanni Corbetta, managing director of Ecopneus scpa, an Italian non-profit company focusing on the tracking, collection, processing and final destination of end-of-life tyres, visited Danish recycling equipment manufacturer Eldan Recycling A/S. The purpose of the visit was to find out the latest developments within the tyre recycling sector and to discuss means of optimising the recycling process. Corbetta met with Eldan’s managing director, Dr Toni Reftman, as well as product manager Bjorn Laursen and Eldan’s agent for Italy, Alessandro Silvestri of NME Srl.
During his visit to Demark, Corbetta also visited tyre recycler Imdex A/S to see the new Eldan Tyre Cleaning And Washing System in action. Eldan says the new system improves the quality of end-products by removing foreign objects such as stones, sand and snow from waste tyres during the initial recycling phase. The system is also expected to significantly reduce production costs due to lower component wear. The Eldan Tyre Cleaning And Washing System will be launched at Ecomondo show in Italy in November.
