Tyre Bay Direct enters administration

According to Companies House, specialist garage consumables supplier Tyre Bay Direct has appointed an administrator. The appointment was made on 25 September and further details of this will be made public via Companies House in the next five days. However, judging by a statement on the company’s website there is every intention to continue business as a going concern:

“Tyre Bay Direct Ltd has experienced some major issues in the last two weeks meaning we have been uncontactable. We sincerely apologise for the problems this has caused but we are pleased to say that we [will] be available from 9am on Wednesday 20th September as normal. All contacts made in the last 2 weeks [have] been retrieved and we will respond to each individual as soon as possible. Many thanks for your patience.”

Tyre Bay Direct is a family run business with over 20 years’ experience in the tyre equipment industry. Customers range from small scale independent mobile tyre fitters to large fast fit chains and fleet management companies. The company has even been nominated as finalists in the NTDA’s Tyre Industry Awards as part of the Tyre & Aftermarket Equipment Supplier of the Year category for four consecutive years.

Tyres & Accessories contacted Tyre Bay Direct for comment and subsequently learnt that the company was bought by Atlas Equipment in October 2017.
