Two new appointments at Maxam Tire

Jed Soar (l) and Mark Turner

Jed Soar has joined Maxam Tire International as applications and field service engineer. His appointment at Maxam follows that of Mark Turner, who from the start of June has held the position of senior product marketing manager – agricultural tyres.

Soar began in his position on 1 August and is predominantly responsible for driving and developing the technical development and performance of the Maxam product portfolio. His specific role within Maxam covers three key technical advancement areas: Sales support, customer (end user) support and Engineering team support.

Currently based in Amsterdam, Soar has many years’ experience in the tyre industry, working for a number of major brands in senior positions; most recently he served as European head of training for the Alliance Tire Group, and prior to this was technical sales & OEM manager for Goodyear/Titan and regional field engineering manager at Bridgestone Europe. In addition, he is well-versed in the understanding of the increasing engineering demands and needs in the market place – specifically and personally steering several research and development initiatives.

Soar reports directly to Maxam engineering director, Dirk Debruin, and locally to Maxam sales and marketing director (ROW), Martin Lumb. “We are delighted to welcome Jed to the team – his track record and credentials are excellent and I am sure he will make a significant contribution to the performance of the MAXAM team,” comments Lumb. “We all wish him well, and look forward to working with him.”

Senior product marketing manager – agricultural tyres since 1 June, Turner reports directly to Martin Lumb and is mainly tasked with overseeing and executing the product portfolio growth and business development of Maxam’s Agricultural Tire segment. His activities chiefly cover the ROW Region, within the company’s Specialty Tyre Division.

Currently based in Luxembourg, Turner has a wealth of experience in the tyre industry, having worked in numerous roles for Goodyear for over 27 years, both in on- and off-road product applications.

“We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming and adding Mark to the team,” says Martin Lumb. “For an individual of his calibre and industry standing to be wanting to work for Maxam, demonstrates the high regard which is now associated with the Maxam brand. This is a challenging role, in an ever-increasingly competitive environment – and one I am sure Mark will relish and enjoy.”

Turner adds: “I am excited to have this opportunity to join the team. The Maxam Agricultural range has made a great impact in the market in the short space of time since it was introduced. I am looking forward to contributing to what I am sure will be an exciting journey as we further grow the brand, the range and our customer base.”
