Deshpande announced as Cooper Tire’s sales director for Africa

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd. has appointed Amit Deshpande its sales director for Africa. In this position, he is responsible for supporting product development with region-specific specifications and identifying sales leads within the region.

Deshpande has worked in the tyre industry for over ten years. His prior tyre industry experience includes as a divisional head of sales and marketing for East and West Africa and Latin America, as well as other leadership roles such as group manager of operations for Latin America. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Sardar Patel University, where he studied industrial polymer chemistry, and a master’s degree in Marketing and International Business from Symbiosis Institute of International Business. Deshpande is fluent in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi, as well as Spanish and Portuguese.

The appointment of Amit Deshpande follows the previously announced appointments of Jaap van Wessum as sales director for Europe and Christophe Huss as sales director for the Middle East. These three sales leaders will focus on growth within Cooper’s newly defined clusters in the Europe region – Europe, the Middle East and Africa – as Cooper continues to widen the distribution of its products.
