Yokohama brand goes UHP, following Chelsea sponsorship
Currently experiencing a boost in its brand awareness thanks to its partnership with 2016/2017 Premier League champions Chelsea FC, demand for Yokohama’s range of high performance tyres which allow drivers to push the limit reportedly continues to soar.
Selected by a growing number of premium vehicle manufacturers as original equipment, including Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, as well as for many high-profile motorsport series around the world, such as the FIA World Touring Car Series. Yokohama’s Advan range showcases both Yokohama’s BluEarth and orange oil technologies, providing a winning combination of grip, fuel efficiency and wear resistance.
The flagship tyre of the range, the Advan Sport V105, secured ‘an overall victory across the wet handling tests’ in EVO magazine’s most recent ultra-high performance tyre test. Competing alongside eight other leading tyre brands in a series of 11 tests, the Advan Sport V105 was praised in particular for its wet weather performance while it was described as delivering ‘strong performances across the board’ showing what a ‘good all-rounder it is’.
Chosen as original equipment on vehicles including the latest Fiat 124 Spider, the Mercedes-Benz AMG E43 and the latest Porsche 911 Carrera, the Advan Sport V105 is available in sizes from 16 – 23 inches.
The most recent addition to the range available to drivers in the UK is the new directional ADVAN FLEVA V701 tyre, designed to deliver sporty handling and plenty of grip for executive, family saloon and hatchback cars.
Available in sizes from 15 – 20 inches, the new tyre features an attractive directional tread design which not only looks impressive but also helps deliver stunning levels of performance. With the EU wet grip grading of ‘A’, the tyre is designed to provide excellent levels of hydroplaning resistance and with increased tread block stiffness, delivers an enhanced and direct handling feel as well as low levels of noise at just 67-69 dB.
Featuring Yokohama’s nanoBLEND tread compound with the use of orange oil, the ADVAN Fleva V701 has been manufactured with environmental performance in mind and also offers the optimum balance of superior wet grip, high fuel efficiency and wear resistance.
Making a special return in 2017, the Yokohama A008P, originally developed for Porsche fitment, is back following a redesign. Aimed squarely at the retro and classic car market it offers a timeless look with up to date performance and will be available this autumn in two sizes – 205/55ZR16 91W for front tyres and 245/45ZR16 94W for rear tyres.
