IMI offers free MOT update session at Automechanika
The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is providing a free MOT update at Automechanika Birmingham, taking place on Thursday 8 June from 9am – 11.30am in the Concourse Suite 1, NEC Birmingham. Technicians can register to attend and discuss the evolution of MOT training with MOT tester training expert, Kate Street.
The breakfast meeting will offer local garages an insight on the latest MOT training requirements, the impact it may have on workshops and how to prepare testers for the future.
Street said: “This is a great opportunity for UK garages to gain valuable information and prepare accordingly to futureproof their workshop. Legislation is constantly changing and it’s important that those within our industry do not fall foul of the law.”
IMI works to protect and develop the automotive trade, keeping the industry and customers up to date with the latest changes and technology, as well as providing the necessary training to ensure the highest standard of service is delivered throughout the supply chain.
The institute offers a variety of options for existing testers, including MOT annual training and assessment for classes 1 and 2 (Motorcycle) and classes 4 and 7 (Light Vehicle).
Simon Albert, event director of Automechanika Birmingham, said: “For garage owners and technicians, the exhibition provides a one stop shop for new tools, diagnostic and garage equipment as well as discovering tomorrow’s technology.”
