Prometeon partners with Iveco Defence Vehicles

New Pirelli mg:01 tyre developed for defence vehicles

Prometeon Tyre Group – the new name for Pirelli’s recentlly separated Truck, Bus, Agro and OTR tyres business – has signed a commercial agreement with Iveco Defence Vehicles, which calls for a partnership for the development and supply of tyres for new generation defence vehicles. The news is a big step forward for Prometoen as it shows the business’s willingness and ability to work at an international OE level.

The new Pirelli MG:01 tyre is at the centre of the news. The tyre, in the 265/70R19.5 size, was specifically developed at the Prometeon Tyre Group’s research and development centre in Milan in the context of this development partnership.

According to Prometeon, the MG:01 has a tread compound that is compatible with traditional road, off-road and snowed-under conditions, delivering maximum performance and optimal drivability for any type of use. The acronym MG indicates the operational characteristics of the new tyre: M for Multipurpose (both for the steer and drive axles) and G for On-Off Road applications.
