Obituary: Former Bulldog chairman Mike Edwards

It is with sadness we report that Mike Edwards, final chairman of Bulldog Remoulds Ltd prior to it joining Bridgestone, died on 8 April, aged 78, after a determined battle against cancer.

From the early 1960s, Edwards, together with his three brothers, created a group of 10 tyre depots throughout East Anglia before concentrating on producing quality truck remoulds at Bulldog in 1973.

As a lifelong rowing enthusiast he formed the very successful “Star” rowing club together with friends in Bedford, serving for over 60 years including as chairman and president. Mike was a true and loyal friend who helped many and was much respected within the industry. Deepest condolences are extended to his widow Rita and Family.
