Mortimer appointed Continental’s UK passenger marketing director
Guy Frobisher is taking on a central role at Continental AG’s headquarters in Germany as head of marketing communication for the PLT Replacement EMEA business unit, and the UK-based position he leaves is being filled by Tracey Mortimer. Mortimer, who has been with Continental for 14 years, begins in her new job as passenger marketing director on 1 May.
Mortimer’s career at Continental Tyre Group began in September 2003, when she was appointed marketing communications manager for the passenger car and light truck business. She was promoted to the role of commercial marketing manager in September 2011. Based at the tyre maker’s UK head office in West Drayton, the new passenger marketing director will have overall responsibility for the marketing strategy for the passenger business unit in the UK and Ireland. Continental believes Mortimer’s experience with all customer groups across both passenger and commercial channels will prove of great value to the business.
“I am delighted to return to the passenger division within Continental,” says Tracey Mortimer. “The brand has an excellent product offering and we have some really exciting marketing initiatives and partnerships underpinning our communications activities, such as our ‘Vision Zero’ initiative and our partnership with the European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) through its ‘Stop the Crash’ campaign – both of which further enhance Continental’s status as a leader in automotive technology and safety – through to our involvement in the Prudential RideLondon and our joint development activities with adidas. I really look forward to continuing the successes of my predecessor and the team, driving these initiatives further.”
Guy Frobisher will also start in his new, Hannover-based position on 1 May. His career at Continental Tyre Group began in April 1988, and since then he has held ten different roles located within and outside the UK.
