Trelleborg Group appoints Paolo Pompei business area president
The Trelleborg Group has appointed Paolo Pompei as the new business area president of Trelleborg Wheel Systems as of 1 April, 2017. He will succeed Maurizio Vischi, who is retiring. Like his predecessor, Paolo will be a member of Trelleborg Group Management. Pompei, born in 1971, has worked at Trelleborg Wheel Systems in various management positions since 1999, and for the past number of years has been in charge of the global operations of agricultural tyres.
“We are very satisfied to be able to promote Paolo. He has an excellent profile as well as a very suitable background in all respects. We are certain that he will be able to continue the successful development of our tyre operations in close cooperation with the excellent team at Trelleborg Wheel Systems. Paolo has been instrumental and closely involved in the acquisition of CGS and is a strong contributor in the ongoing integration activities,” says Peter Nilsson, president and CEO of Trelleborg.
“I am proud and honoured to assume the responsibility for the continued development of Trelleborg’s tyre operations. I am highly committed to the business and I am delighted to have been given this opportunity. We are at an exciting stage in the development of Trelleborg Wheel Systems with the ongoing integration of CGS’s tyre operation. I am eagerly looking forward to the continued development,” says Pompei.
Maurizio Vischi has been business area president of Trelleborg Wheel Systems since 2001. “I want to extend my warm and heartfelt thanks to Maurizio Vischi, not only for the development of our tyre operations but also for being a personal support in many ways. Under Maurizio’s leadership, the business area has seen fantastic development. It has created global positions, improved its geographical footprint, launched numerous new products, solutions and concepts, and grown substantially, both organically and structurally. Maurizio stands for competence, expertise and enormous integrity, as well as commitment and Italian passion. He has been a major asset in the development of the entire Trelleborg Group,” concludes Nilsson.
