New Taurus, Kingstone products build on KRT’s agri market presence
Kings Road Tyres (KRT) is building on its position as a major wholesale distributor of agricultural tyres with new products from two of its exclusive lines, Taurus and house brand, Kingstone.
The mid-range Taurus brand offer is to be extended with additions to the Point 65 product in sizes 440/65R24 and 540/65R34, which are both available from the first quarter of 2016. A new range of Point HP products in sizes 650/85R38, 600/70R30, 710/70R38 and 600/65R28 has also been developed for medium to high power tractor applications (180-240hp). These new sizes will be introduced this year.
The brand will also receive added merchandising support in 2016 with a new online Taurus dealer portal, available to customers purchasing the brand through KRT. The Portal will award points for each tyre purchased, with points then redeemed against a selection of attractive incentive awards, ranging from TV’s to vouchers.
New implement tyres from Kingstone
Recent new product development investment in the Kingstone brand has focused on delivering a range of small implement tyres for turf, horticultural and ATV equipment. These are available as multirib, 3-Rib and open centre options.
Tim Bader, KRT’s group operations manager, says: “KRT prides itself on providing an outstanding service to farming users. We understand that agriculture is a specialist sector. It requires a commitment to holding high value stock across a number of brands and for applications that range from 50-inch diameter drive tyres through to products for small implement applications.
“That commitment is underlined with the new products developed by Taurus and Kingstone that we will be bringing to the market for the first time in 2016,” adds Bader. “
As a business, we make real efforts to get out and meet end users at farming shows around the country. Speaking face-to-face with the people who fit and use agricultural tyres has a direct influence on the products we develop, stock and sell.”
The agricultural sector is a major market for KRT and 2016 will see the company maintain its involvement with leading trade exhibitions and events. On 20 and 21 January, the company was among the 900 exhibitors at LAMMA, the farm machinery, services and equipment show in Peterborough, which attracts up to 40,000 farming visitors each year.
As befits its status as a full-range supplier, KRT has been a wholesale partner for both Michelin and Kleber agricultural tyres for over six years, and Firestone for more than 25 years, giving it direct access to the latest design and performance technology for market-leading products. It also offers value-for-money budget products with two additional exclusive agricultural brands in Farmking and Sanfeng.
From its national warehouse and logistics network, KRT provide competitive and responsive customer service for agricultural specialists, with 24-hour delivery on most products. The company also operates a trade-only policy of dealing with tyre dealers rather than going direct to end users, which undercuts the tyre specialist in terms of both product sales and the service opportunities available in this technically demanding sector.
