Kuehne + Nagel takes over Michelin warehousing in Poland

Logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel Poland is now managing Michelin’s warehouse activities in Poland. This arrangement is the first new business under a global master agreement for contract logistics recently signed by the two companies.
Kuehne + Nagel began its role at the Michelin logistics centre near Warsaw on 16 November, and in the scope of the local contract is responsible for the management of warehousing activities for all of Poland. The company has taken on responsibility for facility maintenance, administrative operations and handling services. Activities carried out by Kuehne + Nagel range from receipt of Michelin products from manufacturing facilities, quality control, stock management to final order picking. Products are delivered from the Warsaw region site to customers in Poland and other countries. Kuehne + Nagel will implement a new warehouse management system provided by Michelin.
“Contract logistics for the automotive industry is globally a strategic focus area for Kuehne + Nagel. We therefore highly appreciate the trust Michelin has put into our company. The new outsourcing project confirms our strategic focus and capability to provide highly specialised and industry-specific solutions for the automotive industry. It additionally fosters the global partnership with Michelin,” said Gianfranco Sgro, the Kuehne + Nagel International AG Management Board member responsible for Contract Logistics.
The partnership between Michelin and Kuehne + Nagel dates nearly years and this strategic relationship has now been formalised in a global master agreement for worldwide contract logistics services. Kuehne + Nagel also manages Michelin warehouses in the United States of America, Mexico and Thailand.
