Grouptyre holds national sales conference
Grouptyre held its annual National Sales Conference in mid-January at the Holiday Inn just off the M6 in Birmingham. Hosted by Paul Hollows, Grouptyre’s commercial director, the meeting gave the organisation the opportunity to present its 2017 plans to its sales teams, who had converged on Birmingham from all corners of the UK. The Conference was opened by Grouptyre chairman Gary Oliver, who in his opening address touched on the constant challenges which we all face not only in the industry, but the wider world.
The team of over 50 individuals, who attended from one of the largest sales forces within the industry, included regional managers, business development managers, IT and marketing representatives. The conference also concentrated on the past year’s successes as well as focussing on its exciting future plans for growth and welcomed guest presenters from various tyre manufacturers.
“The National Sales Conference is an extremely important event in the Grouptyre calendar,” said Paul Hollows, “which gives all our sales teams the opportunity to come together to reflect on the year’s achievements, as well as to look forward to the plans and the actions for the coming year. With such a wealth of talent within our sales teams, this event also gives us the opportunity to share ideas and best practice across the Group, which is vital for developing the business”.
The event concluded with an evening meal in Birmingham for the teams to celebrate the year’s successful trading.
Anniversary, investments and a ‘simple choice’.
Following a successful 20th anniversary year, Grouptyre reports that it has once again seen more new developments and is promoting its Goodride brand as “the simple choice”. In practice this means further investment in warehousing, delivery vehicles and therefore availability of product and an increase in delivery drops to its retail customers.
Currently there are 40 strategically located distribution points with more in the pipeline and 440 delivery vehicles nationwide, providing true national coverage throughout the UK and Ireland. These levels of service are those that only a local supplier can provide, but with the additional benefits of being part of a large national organisation. With a stockholding of over 1.2 million tyres, customers are able to access the tyres they want in a timely manner.
Grouptyre stocks an extensive range of exclusive margin brand products for its customers, including Constancy, Evergreen, Goodride, Landsail and Rapid, offering a wide range of dealer support packages, with competitively priced products, access to exclusive dealer promotions, eye-catching point of sale material and merchandise.
“Our range of exclusive brands is second to none”, says Gary Oliver, chairman of the board of directors, “and the quality of these brands which are imported is excellent, covering a huge range of sizes for car, van and 4×4. There are some great tyre labelling scores for these tyres, which gives the retailer additional confidence when selling them and the feedback we have from our customers is phenomenal. This along with our retail support packages shows why Grouptyre is the go-to place for tyres”.
Grouptyre describes Goodride tyres as “the simple choice”. The tyres are produced by Hangzhou Zhongce, China’s largest tyre manufacturer. Founded in 1958 the company is one of the fastest growing in China. With an extensive product range covering all sectors of the market, Goodride is continually investing in developing its production capacity, range and brand offer with the goal of becoming one of the leading forces in the quality tyres market.
