Gold medallist Hagino named a Bridgestone Athlete Ambassador
Japanese swimmer and Olympic gold medallist Kosuke Hagino has become a ‘Bridgestone Athlete Ambassador’ for a period of five years. The company states that it is “excited to partner with Hagino to share his journey and support him in the continued pursuit of his goals,” and expresses its hope that the swimmer “will successfully embody our corporate values.”
Hagino, already a two-time Olympian and four-time medallist, is pursuing a full-time swimming career upon graduation from Toyo University this spring and will train to earn a spot at the Tokyo 2020 games. He won his first Olympic medal in London in 2012, claiming bronze in the 400 metre individual medley, and four years later he won gold at the same event at Rio 2016. During these games he also received a silver for the 200 metre individual medley and a bronze medal in the 4×200 metre freestyle relay.
