BKT wins port tyre manufacturing award

The award of ‘Port Tyre Manufacturer of the Year’ at the recent Terminal Operator Excellence Awards 2016 in Dubai went to Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT).
The award for the best manufacturer of tyres for port and terminal cargo handling equipment is based upon a number of factors, including technological innovation, product performance, durability, sustainable manufacturing and ease of recycling. The Terminal Operator team visited BKT’s newest production site at Bhuj and rated the plant highly for its high level of process automation and strict adherence to process control.
BKT supplies port application tyres to most of the major terminal operators in the Middle East region. In addition to its current port radial range, including the Portmax PM 90 reach stacker tyre, Portmax PM 93 for straddle carriers and Liftmax LM 81 for forklifts, BKT will soon launch a radial tyre range for terminal tractor applications.
