Battery maker AtlasBX appoints new CEO
AtlasBX, the subsidiary of Hankook Tire engaged in the manufacture and sale of batteries for automotive and marine applications, has appointed Suk-Joon Won its new chief executive officer.
Won joins AtlasBX from the Hyundai Motor Group’s credit card company, Hyundai Card Co., Ltd., where he was a director and head of the card business. Previously he served as president of Hyundai Capital America, Inc.
The AtlasBX battery company was founded in South Korea in 1944 and became a Hankook Tire company in 1977. It is currently the sixth largest battery manufacturer in the world and produces more than 9.5-million batteries per year under the AtlasBX, Hankook, Alphaline, Aurora, Koba, Forte and Primax brand names. These products are sold in more than 130 countries around the world.
