Hankook tyres OE on Audi Q7
Audi’s Q7 will be available with the Hankook Ventus S1 evo² SUV in size 285/35 R 22 106 Y XL
Audi has approved Hankook tyres as an original equipment option on its Q7 range, including the recently-launched Audi SQ7 TDI. Together with other Q7 models, the SQ7 TDI will be available with the Hankook Ventus S1 evo² SUV in size 285/35 R 22 106 Y XL, a tyre that contains Hankook Tire’s new ‘sound absorber’-technology.
In order to meet Audi AG’s requirements for their premium SUV range, Hankook Tire says that its engineers “developed an ultra-high performance pattern without sacrificing the necessary comfort characteristics that are mandatory for this class of luxury vehicles.” As cavity noise is typically higher in lightweight low aspect ratio tyres, the reduction of this noise formed a “pivotal aspect and a focal point” of the tyre development process.
The tyre development team adapted Hankook’s own ‘sound absorber’ silent tyre technology to the model Ventus S1 evo² SUV. Sound absorber is a noise absorbing polyurethane foam inlay sheet that is applied to the inside of the tyre and then bonded by a thin layer of Hankook’s Sealguard material.
