‘Strong demand’ for new Vacu-Lug Logistik, Duramold retreads following CV Show

Vacu-Lug’s ranges of Logistik and Duramold retreads are produced in accordance with its ORBIT (optimised retreading built-in time) programme

Vacu-Lug has reported a strong response to the launch of its two new Logistik tyres.  The new 315/80R22.5 Logistik LD01 drive and 385/65R22.5 Logistik Supersingle LT01 trailer tyres were shown alongside a selection of Duramold tyres, including the new 315/70R22.5 T100 drive at the recent CV Show at Birmingham’s NEC.

Manufactured for both regional and highway applications within the commercial vehicle transport sector, the retread products are designed to reduce rolling resistance and increase longevity, while embodying the company’s focus on maximising efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of its manufacturing processes.

As part of Vacu-Lug’s efficiency improvements, through its ORBIT (optimised retreading built-in time) programme, it said that it continues to invest heavily in the latest technologies and processes, including automated conveyer systems, LED lighting and twelve-segment, high-pressure tyre presses (to produce its Logistik drive range). These developments are aimed at improving operational efficiency, control of work-in-progress and health and safety.

“To say we were pleased with the response from the CV show is an understatement,” says Vacu-Lug sales director, Dave Alsop.  “Clearly, there is still a strong demand for premium retread tyres in the HGV sector, as it would appear that some of the very cheap imports are not proving to be as cost-effective as expected.

“Retreading is a key part of the UK truck tyre industry with a significant proportion of replacement tyres sold being retreads,” he adds. “As such, we continually upgrade and invest in our manufacturing processes to ensure that Vacu-Lug remains at the leading edge of this important industry sector. This way, our customers can continue to use reliable retread tyres as part of a well-managed and cost-conscious fleet.”

Alsop spoke to Tyres & Accessories about the wider retreading market in the UK during the CV Show. For more, see here, or read the June 2016 bilingual (English and German) Retreading Special supplement.
