Semperit celebrates 110th anniversary with completion of Runner CV tyre range
Semperit has marked its 110th anniversary by updating its truck tyre portfolio in a two-day event in Vienna. The Austrian tyre brand – a Continental brand since 1985 – presented its Runner F2 (steer), award-winning D2 (drive) and T2 (trailer) tyres as a “breakthrough into a new chapter of [Semperit’s] illustrious history,” according to Constantin Batsch, head of the truck tyres replacement EMEA business unit at Continental Reifen Deutschland.
The tyres, manufactured with Conti’s state-of-the-art technology, represent the basis for Semperit’s brand positioning, Batsch added. “For that purpose, we are not only updating the entire product portfolio, but also expanding it, thereby achieving coverage of almost 90 per cent of the market, which brings us close to the top brands.”
Semperit presented its combined regional and long-distance Runner products in 2015, with the F2 and D2 available in size 315/80 R22.5. The latest event saw the T2 385/65 R22.5 trailer tyre presented for the first time, completing the versatile Runner range. The tyres feature specially developed compounds, optimised tread designs and a robust carcass construction to offer improved mileage and durability.
“Our customers can rely on Runner tyres. They deliver impressive performance even on rain-soaked roads, ensuring the best possible lane-keeping and optimum braking characteristics,” comments Pasko Segrt, brand manager for Semperit at Continental Reifen Deutschland.
Both the Runner F2 steering-axle tyre and the Runner T2 trailer tyre feature M+S markings, while the Runner D2 drive-axle tyre adds the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. Furthermore, the carcasses of all tyres in the Semperit Runner family are designed to be suitable for retreading.
