Omni United buys A to Z Tire in US

Omni United has purchased Texas-based A to Z Tire & Battery, Inc – Omni’s second US-based distribution acquisition. Now the focus is on consolidating the distribution businesses (A to Z Tire and the previously acquired Interstate Tire Distributor) into a single unit under a new brand identity. No further details of what brand and when this will take place have been released.

A to Z Tire was founded in 1926 as Amarillo Bus Company and since then the company has grown to serve a network of over 6,000 dealers across six states in the west and south regions including Montana, California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. A to Z Tire currently manages 21 locations with over 500,000 square foot of warehousing space.

A to Z Tire carries Toyo, Cooper, Atturo, Firestone, Roadmaster, Gladiator, Samson and other brands. Post acquisition, A to Z will continue to distribute these and additionally include Goodride and Omni United’s brands such as Radar Tires and the newly launched Timberland Tires. According to Omni, the acquisition of A to Z Tire is the next strategic step towards scaling up the multi brand distribution business of Omni United in the US.

“We are excited about this acquisition as it takes the distribution business in our core market to the next level. Acquisitions like these gives us an opportunity to work with other manufacturers and collectively design the next generation of technology for distribution. With the tools that are available today, there is tremendous efficiency that can be brought into the distribution business” said GS Sareen, founder and CEO, Omni United.

Following the acquisition, Omni United’s footprint in the US will reach a total of 29 warehouses with a total capacity of close to a million square feet and a network of over 10,000 dealers spanning 8 states within the west and south regions.

“The future will be about providing transparency and efficiency to the principals so that they have a better view of the business and as a result a better control of the brand they own. We are purely the custodians of the brand and it is only logical that we work with the principals in a partnership mode rather than the traditional customer and supplier way. We want to provide efficiency and benefits of synergies that we gain with acquisitions like this to both our retail customers and to the manufacturers. Our passion and drive is to bring in efficiency to tire distribution and to service as many retail outlets as we can. We will continue to plot our own distribution in areas where we currently don’t have distribution arrangements” said GS Sareen, founder and CEO, Omni United.

“I am very excited about A to Z Tire’s acquisition by Omni United. Omni brings to the table a lot in terms of product lines, programs and business capital needed to grow and service our customers in a very competitive market place. Also, I am excited about the future opportunities that Omni’s plans hold for our employees. Additionally, GS Sareen, founder and CEO of Omni United is a man of vision and is optimistic about what the future holds for the company. I find his innovative approach of doing business very exciting.” said Philip Nussbaum, President, A to Z Tire.
