Court calls in liquidator to deal with Dunlop India – update

The Ruia Group has provided further information as a follow up to our news about Dunlop India Ltd. and recent proceedings in the Calcutta High Court. The Group’s vice-president of corporate communication, Dhrubajyoti Nandi, told Tyrepress.com that the reported court session of 22 December was challenged by the company before a division bench of the Calcutta High Court that same day. The division bench, shared Nandi, “ordered status quo.”

While our previous article stated that the Official Liquidator would “proceed to take possession of all books, records, documents, assets and properties of the company in liquidation and take control of its transactions,” Mr Nandi reported that the division bench gave different instructions, namely it “ordered the Official Liquidator to prepare an inventory of the assets of the company.”
