Cooper Tire sets up Brazilian sales office
Cooper Tire & Rubber is interested in expanding its presence in Latin America. Last November the tyre maker signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Argentina’s Fate SAICI, an agreement that initially covers distribution but may be extended to R&D and offtake production, and this month Cooper announced it has established a sales office in São Paulo, Brazil. The São Paulo office is headed by Durval Amaral, Cooper Brazil’s General Manager, and will help further the company’s Latin America expansion while supporting local distributors and dealers in building the Cooper brands.
“To better serve the markets where we do business in Latin America and to open up new market opportunities, we have put in place an outstanding core leadership team with decades of industry experience and knowledge specific to Latin American,” said Luis Ceneviz, Cooper’s managing director, Latin America Tire Operations.
