Hankook expands Actros, Atego supply

Supply of original equipment Hankook tyres to the Mercedes-Benz Actros and Atego model ranges in the European market has been extended with the approval of a further 20 e-cube MAX AL10+ and DL10+ and SmartFlex AH31 and DH31 sizes. This expansion of its original equipment portfolio in the heavy commercial vehicle and medium duty segments is taking place as part of its existing OE agreements for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, which cover the Actros, Antos, Arocs, Econic and Atego models. Hankook Tire commenced its supply to Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Europe in 2014 original equipment tyres for the newly-introduced Atego.

In addition, the tyre maker reports it will “provide multiple options” for 22.5-inch tyres, the best-selling TBR tyre size in Europe. “Extending the OE fitment of the most-demanded heavy duty and medium duty trucks further strengthens the Hankook brand in a highly competitive market and is yet another milestone in the company’s endeavour for sustainable growth in the TBR business,” writes Hankook in a statement.

The long haul e-cube MAX AL10+ all position tyre and e-cube MAX DL10+ drive tyre are both available in sizes 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 315/60R22.5, while the all-season SmartFlex AH31 and SmartFlex DH31 drive axle tyre – both 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) marked – are available in sizes 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 295/80R22.5 for the new Actros.
