Fleet Tyre Network signs Europcar deal

Fleet Tyre Network (FTN), which offers replacement tyre services to fleets through independents, has been selected as the primary tyre provider for Europcar. The latest news follows FTN’s selection as one of three tyre suppliers to Leaseplan UK, part the biggest fleet company in the world.

Under the Europcar deal FTN will be responsible for Europcar’s replacement tyre requirements in both its rental locations and whilst its vehicles are on hire through FTN’s 900-strong nationwide network of independent tyre fitters.

Nick Bennett, managing director of Fleet Tyre Network commented: “We are thrilled that Europcar has chosen FTN as its primary partner for this contract.  Our ambition is to create an open tyre market, where customer service and free choice are made available to all without compromising cost.”

Ken McCall, managing director, Europcar UK Group added: “Tyre replacement is a necessity and it is imperative the service is swift and painless, the customer is back on the road quickly and the vehicle down-time minimised. I have every confidence FTN can meet that requirement.”

FTN’s major shareholder is Micheldever Tyre Services Ltd, the UK’s largest independent wholesaler, distributor and retailer of tyres. Its chief executive, Duncan Wilkes, said: “FTN has been trading for less than three years, and in that time it has developed a strong proposition and an enviable reputation for service, attention to detail, and integrity. That reputation has been fully recognised with the award of this contract from Europcar.”
