Automechanika Shanghai set for record-breaking show
New exhibition venue provides enlarged space
Automechanika Shanghai 2015, the second largest Automechanika event worldwide, will open from 2 – 5 December at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Puxi, Shanghai, with record exhibitor numbers expected. Overall this is set to be the largest Automechanika Shanghai to date. Alongside exhibition space and numbers, 100,000 global buyers and trade visitors are expected, an increase of 12 per cent on last year.
According to the show’s organisers, the new, enlarged venue has been adopted in response to Automechanika Shanghai outgrowing its previous exhibition space. Now 280,000 square metres, a considerable 27 per cent increase, may be utilised for exhibiting and sourcing the latest in automotive products and services throughout 11 halls in the largest single block building and exhibition complex in the world.
The exhibition space will cover the entire automobile industry chain including OE and aftermarket. Additionally, there will be four major industry sectors represented, including Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance, Accessories & Tuning and the newly-added Electronics & Systems. The Electronics & Systems sector was added as a new category this year due to demand experienced at previous Automechanika Shanghai exhibitions and will utilise over 40,000 sqm of exhibition space, approximately 15 per cent of the total exhibition show space, housing 658 exhibitors at Automechanika Shanghai. Brands participating in this new sector include Continental Automotive, Denso, Hella, Huirun, Magneti Marelli and Zhejiang VIE.
The total number of exhibitors stands at 5,395, a 10 per cent increase from last year’s show, with 39 countries and regions represented. This includes five new countries – Ecuador, Finland, Israel, Liechtenstein and Morocco – and 34 returning countries and regions – Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.

The returning pavilions are from France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. The number of international exhibitors has increased by 16 per cent this year, indicating the elevated internationality of the show.
