2016 North American Tire & Retread Expo to feature special recycling exhibit
The North American Tire & Retread Expo will include its first annual Tire Recycling World exhibit in its 2016 show. Taking place 19-21 April at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, the three-day expo brings together a wide variety of tyre and retread industry professionals for networking, buying, and selling opportunities.
Including recycling professionals – such as tyre recycling equipment manufacturers, tyre-derived material (TDM) feedstock suppliers, and tyre-derived product (TDP) manufacturers – will, the expo’s organiser states, bring the remainder of the tyre’s life-cycle into the arena. It aims to highlight “the importance of recovering energy and high-value materials from the one billion end-of-life tyres generated globally each year.”
Rob Czukor of Tire Recycling Consultants and Denise Kennedy, DK Enterprises, invite tyre and rubber recycling professionals to reserve a booth in the special Tire Recycling World section. “We believe that by bringing tire recycling to the North American Tire & Retread Expo we can close the loop from the manufactured tire to the end-user and bring higher value to the new tire, tire recycling and retread industries,” Kennedy said.
The first North American Tire & Retread Expo, held in 2015, featured 112 exhibitors and 1,041 attendees from 62 countries. “By including retreaders and recyclers in the line-up, we believe this event has the potential to achieve the magnitude and importance of the International Tire and Rubber Expo,” Czukor said, noting that the last ITRA show was held in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2003. “Industry leaders still talk about that one.”
The North American Tire & Retread Expo is free for attendees and includes an Inaugural Party at the House of Blues for all, as well as training sessions, special speakers, and the Miss Retread Truck Tire Contest.
